The ADNOC Group (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) is, as the name implies, the national oil company of Abu Dhabi and one of the largest oil companies in the world.
Every year, multimillion-dollar contracts are awarded to local companies. Foreign companies only have a chance to get into business with ADNOC if they work with a local agent or if they set up their own company / branch including a local sponsor as a business partner.
In order to maintain or expand the high quality standards of ADNOC, a qualification procedure was introduced, the ADNOC registration for vendors and suppliers. Cooperation with ADNOC is only possible after getting approval of this registration. At the same time, this registration is reserved only for companies based in Abu Dhabi. In addition, the company MUST have a Emirati partner holding a Passport issued in Abu Dhabi.
In addition to these general requirements, there are other ADNOC-internal qualification issues. Not necessarily every local sponsor from Abu Dhabi will automatically be approved by ADNOC. There are many factors that come into play and it is advisable to chose a local sponsor that can prove that one of his companies already registered successfully.
Choosing the right local sponsor is the top priority here to ensure that your company can work with ADNOC in the future. If you make the wrong choice now, you risk rejection of the registration and you will have to transfer to another local sponsor. The process of transferring sponsorship and resubmitting the registration is costly and time consuming.
